Uber ace to get to the tech rehearsals of local theatre company PurpleCoat Productions version of Breezeblock Park by Willy Russell. First produced in 1975 at the Everyman Theatre (and featuring Pete Postelthwaite and Julie Waltersin the original cast) the play later inspired The Royle Family.
Set at Christmas Eve on a Liverpool housing estate the play deals with the ups and downs of family life. This shows is expertly produced and directed by Karl Falconer with a great young cast who are fantastic in their roles.
First show was last night at the Lantern Theatre and was sold out (and also received glowing reviews from the Liverpool Echo). Tonight is also sold out but there are still some tickets for tomorrow night so get booking quick.
