In Conversation With Lynda La Plante

It’s been so wonderful to cover the In Conversation series created by the Little Atoms of Gemma Aldcroft and Karen Podesta and there have been so many special guests over the years.

Last night saw the return of the series at St George’s Hall and the audience were treated to a great evening of conversation and music with the multi-talented Lynda La Plante.

Brilliantly researched and presented by Mike Neary (who was given an immense compliment of his interview skills by Lynda during the interval) a wide range of topics were covered including her early acting career at the Liverpool Playhouse, her TV work (which ranged from her appearances in the likes of Z Cars to her TV projects including Prime Suspect) and then onto her crime novels. There then followed a book signing of her about to be published novel, Wrongful Death.

Interspersed between the interviews were the brilliant group of female musicians including Liverpool Music Award winner and nominee (Natalie McCool and Anna Corcoran), The Beatelles, Barbieshop and a sublime version of You’ll Never Walk Alone by Emma Dears.

A great night was then topped off at the aftershow part at Hope St Hotel including an amazing version of Lorraine Ellison’s Stay With Me sung by Rosalie Galvin with very adept conducting by Lynda.

Not bad for a Tuesday night is it?
